 Matthew Feigenbaum is counsel to the firm and specializes in commercial and real estate litigation. He received his B.A. from Brooklyn College in 1963, his M.A. in English from State University of New York at Albany in 1966, and his J.D. cum laude from Fordham University in 1979. He is licensed to practice law in Connecticut, New York, Florida, and California. Mr. Feigenbaum has litigated a broad variety of cases in the Federal Courts of New York. Among other matters, he successfully defended several of New York's largest Anheuser-Busch wholesale beer distributors in a major antitrust suit brought by the Attorney General of the State of New York, United States District Court, Eastern District of New York, which sought to invalidate the manner in which beer was distributed in New York; challenged regulations promulgated by the United States Department of Education in an action brought in the United States District Court, Northern District of New York; and he was lead trial counsel in the landmark case of Carter v. Helmsley, United States District Court, Southern District of New York, which was the first case tried pursuant to the federal Visual Artists Rights Act. He has also represented clients in the Bankruptcy Courts of New York and Florida. His experience in the New York State Courts is extensive.
